Pleasantville, NY (August 25, 2026) –Arc Stages is pleased to announce their upcoming Next Stage production of Jason Robert Brown’s THE LAST FIVE YEARS, directed by Adam Pascal (Original Roger in Rent), starring Broadway’s Gypsy’s Andrew Kober and Lili Thomas. With Pascal at the helm, Arc Stages’ production of Jason Robert Brown's beloved contemporary musical promises to bring fresh insight, emotional depth, and artistic excellence to this unforgettable story of love, ambition, and heartbreak. Performances begin Friday, September 25, and continue through Sunday, October 4. Opening Night is Friday, September 25 at 7 pm. Tickets are $32-$44 and available at www.ArcStages.org.
THE LAST FIVE YEARS is an intimate musical that chronicles a five-year relationship in two parallel timelines—one moving forward and one moving backward—between a rising writer and an aspiring actress.
The two-hander stars Andrew Kober as Jamie and Lili Thomas as Cathy. Both Kober and Thomas starred in the recent Gypsy revival alongside Audra McDonald. Additionally, Kober was recently seen in Broadway productions of Queen of Versailles, How to Dance in Ohio, Beetlejuice, Beautiful, School of Rock, and Sunday in the Park with George. Thomas is a Westchester native who made history as the first AAPI Mama Morton in Broadway’s Chicago and starred as Cynthia Murphy in the 1st National Tour of Dear Evan Hansen.

BIOGRAPHIES
JASON ROBERT BROWN has written some of the most highly acclaimed scores for the stage in the last three decades, including Songs for a New World, Parade (1999 Tony for Best Score, 2023 Tony for Best Revival), The Last Five Years (also a feature film), The Bridges of Madison County (Tonys for Best Score and Orchestration), Honeymoon In Vegas, 13 (also a Netflix film), Mr. Saturday Night (with lyrics by Amanda Green), and last season’s The Connector. Upcoming: Midnight In The Garden of Good and Evil, written with Taylor Mac and directed by Rob Ashford based on John Berendt’s novel; and Less, written with Doug Wright and adapted from the novel by Andrew Sean Greer. As a solo artist, Jason has performed around the world – including his debut at Carnegie Hall in Autumn 2024 – and released several albums of his songs. His most recent release, Jason Robert Brown & Stephen Sondheim Live In Concert (on Concord Theatricals Recordings), documents a 2019 all-star performance at New York’s Town Hall. Jason lives in Nyack, NY, with his wife, composer Georgia Stitt, and their two daughters.
ADAM PASCAL is best known for originating the iconic role of Roger in the original Broadway production of Rent, a performance he reprised in the acclaimed film adaptation. His celebrated career has also included starring roles in Aida, Cabaret, Chicago, Something Rotten!, Pretty Woman: The Musical, and numerous concert appearances worldwide.
