NEW YORK, NY — November 3, 2026: The most incendiary show of 2025, the most talked about show of 2026, is now extending into 2027! Andrew Fox and Joel Sinensky’s SLAM FRANK, choreographed by Esosa Oviasu, music directed by Alex Harrington, and directed by Sam LaFrage will play through January 4, 2027. Previews began on September 17 before officially opening at the Orpheum Theatre (126 2nd Avenue, NYC) on October 4, 2026. Fox and Sinensky co-wrote the show, drawing on real statements and online discourse to reimagine Anne Frank’s story through an intersectional hip-hop lens. They are also offering an immersive experience with on-stage seating and new late-night performances on Saturday nights at 5 pm and 9 pm.

SLAM FRANK imagines what happens when a progressive theater company transforms Anne Frank’s tragic true story into an intersectional, multi-ethnic, genderqueer, decolonized, anti-capitalist, hyper-empowering Afro-Latin hip-hop musical. The result is one of the most talked-about productions in recent memory, a satirical reckoning about identity, tribalism, and art that left audiences reeling.

Critics have called SLAM FRANK one of the decade's boldest theatrical experiences. Former New York Times chief theatre critic Ben Brantley called the “already-notorious” play “the smartest, gutsiest new musical in years". Drew Gillis of AV Club praised the show’s "satire sharp enough to draw blood" and called it "quite possibly the most shocking thing I've ever seen in a New York theater". Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Michael R. Jackson proclaimed, “There is no cast in these United States with more nerve!” Not to be left out, everyone's favorite public figure Lara Trump called the show “blasphemous” and “distasteful”.

The show stars Olivia Bernábe as Anita (Anne), Alex Lewis as Peter, Amelia Louise Barr as Margot, John Anker Bow as Mr. Van Daan, Austen Horne as Edith, Rocky Paterra as Otto, Jaz Zepatos as Mrs. Van Daan, and Walker Stovall as The Asst. Stage Manager. Understudies include Olamide Asanpaola, Ashlyn Combs, Matthew Krob, Isabella Orosco, and Keegan Sells.

The producing team includes GFour Productions, Stage Time, Steven Brandon, Andrew Fox, Alex Lewis, and Joel Sinensky, in addition to Sarah Battaglia, Erin Boeke Burke, and Katie Rosin. The production features scenic design by Adam Koch, costume design by Sarah Lockwood, and lighting design by Jamie Roderick. Gage Baker is the sound designer, Zack Lobel is the video designer, Nicholas Ferarri is the associate video designer, Devin Orr is the props designer, and Nikita Chernin is the stage manager. Production Management by Stuart Metcalf, General Management by Sarah Battaglia, Carlwell Redman/Evan Bernardin Productions, Casting by Karie Koppel, Marketing and Publicity by Katie Rosin/Kampfire.
