An Immersive Cheese Musical</strong></em> will play a limited engagement at <strong>The RAT NYC</strong> (<u>68-117 Jay St, Brooklyn</u>). Come experience Tyromancy Live! An Immersive Cheese Musical. Tyromancer-turned-influencer Tiffany Curd is ready to reveal all by harnessing Spontaneous Lactose-Induced Clairvoyance (SLIC&trade;). Cheese readings are strongest and most accurate with face-to-face interaction, and in this show, there&rsquo;s room for everyone to interact! When the cheese reveals a major cosmic meltdown, it&rsquo;s up to Tiffany, her trusty assistants, Zaylee and Eli, and you&ndash; yes, you&ndash; to save the universe. This wacky one-hour musical includes an actual cheese tasting with a delicious dollop of sci-fi on top.</p><blockquote>&ldquo;Our show is about harnessing the power of communal art to find joy in the most uncertain of times. The trio met as students at the NYU Tisch Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program, where their shared love of ambitious storytelling and genre-bending musicals first brought them together. Their epic time-travel musical POMPEII RISING has been presented in concert at Judson Memorial Church. They have been proud members of the Theatre Now NY Writers&rsquo; Lab since 2021.</p><p>Originally from South Africa, Henco Espag is currently on the faculty at St. Peter&rsquo;s University and serves as music director and conductor for the Queer Big Apple Corps Symphonic Band as well as music director at Judson Memorial Church. Andi Lee Carter is an alum of the American Opera Project&rsquo;s Composers &amp; the Voice program and the host of The Sci-Fi Musicals Podcast. Briana Harris is a member of the BMI Advanced Bookwriting Workshop and also designs tabletop games. Since 2023, Andi and Briana have co-hosted and produced Verse Intro Cabaret, a monthly series spotlighting new work by emerging musical theatre writers.</p><p> </p><p><strong>RACHEL KLEIN</strong> (<em>Director</em>) is a New York City-based director and director/choreographer, specializing in new play and musical development. Her commercial off-broadway success &ndash; including work with industry luminaries like Katey Sagal, Rosie O&#039;Donnell, Bruce Vilanch, Michaela Ja&eacute; Rodriguez, Bonnie Milligan, Bianca Del Rio, Betty Buckley, Sharna Burgess, Frankie Grande, Randy Jones, Jenna Leigh Green, Marc Kudisch, Alison Fraser, Brooks Ashmanskas, Richard Kind, Nancy Opel, Howard McGillin, Jim Walton, Jinkx Monsoon, and more &ndash; has largely been characterized by bold, nuanced storytelling and the creation of vivid, lush, magical worlds.</p><p>Ms. Klein initially established a formidable presence in the independent theater community, creating &amp; developing original work downtown, Brooklyn, off-off Broadway, in circus spaces, rock&rsquo;n &rsquo;roll, and nightclub scenes. This wealth and diversity of artistic expression is evident in her body of theatrical work, which has expanded to include multiple off-Broadway productions, regional premieres, collaborations with rock&rsquo;n&#039;roll luminaries such as Jeff Chimenti of Dead and Co and Graham Russell of Air Supply, and an epic musical podcast starring Adrienne Barbeau.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Theatre Now NY </strong>is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development, production, publication, and circulation of short and full-length musicals by providing ongoing support for writers and their work in order to nurture voices and forms that push the boundaries of musical theatre.</p><p>Theatre Now seeks to create a vibrant community of early and mid-career musical theatre artists who have the support they need to thrive while producing quality presentations of new musicals.
