New York, NY – (November 25, 2024) – Co-artistic directors Kyra Sims and Rob Neill and the award-winning New York Neo-Futurists (NYNF), a collective of writer-director-performers now in their 20th season of writing and performing original work rooted in non-fiction, announce they are returning to HERE Arts Center (145 Sixth Avenue, NY, NY 10013) for their annual Best Of The Infinite Wrench performances.
"An impish illustration of how lively entertainment can be created from theatrical spare parts." - The New York Times (Critic’s Pick)
Four shows only—each show is unique—don’t miss this chaotic and courageous barrage of sports and theater: December 6th and 13th at 7:00 PM and December 7th and 14th at 9:30 PM. The NYNF will attempt to perform 30 of their best plays from 2024 in about an hour, taking audiences on a neo-futurist theatrical ‘year in review’ through their non-traditional storytelling style as the seconds pour out. Each play was written from the cast's lived experience, short slices of life that range from funny, profound, elegant, gross, topical, irrelevant, terrifying, or even absurd.
“We are excited to return to HERE for the sixth time with our Best of The Infinite Wrench! These shows are a highlight of our year and favorites among many of our fans. HERE holds a special place in my artistic journey—it’s where I began my work as a Neo-Futurist, and it continues to be an important champion of innovative art and artists”, says Neill.

The New York Neo-Futurists are a prolific, dynamic ensemble of multidisciplinary artists who write and perform original work rooted in the truth of our own lived experiences. They fuse elements of poetry, game, and performance art to create ever-changing theater and other artistic experiments to respond to the world around them. Since opening in Brooklyn in 2004, the New York Neo-Futurists have premiered over 7,000 short plays in their radical theater mechanisms Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind (2004-2016) and The Infinite Wrench (2017-present), and have become a downtown New York institution. The NYNF have been a stalwart presence in the Off-Off Broadway community since their inception; they have won numerous Innovative Theatre Awards, earned multiple Drama Desk Nominations, and were honored at The 2018 Fresh Fruit Festival Awards with the Honeyberry Award for Unrecognized Service to the LGBT Community. The Infinite Wrench unleashes a barrage of two-minute plays, and while each one offers something different, be it funny, profound, elegant, disgusting, topical, irrelevant, or terrifying, all are truthful and tackle the here-and-now, inspired by the lived experiences of the performers. In addition to performing The Infinite Wrench year round, the NYNF have created four seasons of their NYT-recommended podcast Hit Play, and teach workshops in devised storytelling.
