THE QUEER WITHOUT A SANTA CLAUS, A RAUNCHY, RIOTOUS HOLIDAY SPECTACULAR

WORLD PREMIERES AT THE LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE THIS DECEMBER

New York, NY - Wednesday, November 5, 2025: The raunchy holiday minds of Black Watch Theatre (The Trouble with Dead Boyfriends) proudly unwrap the world premiere of THE QUEER WITHOUT A SANTA CLAUS, a scandalously merry parody for anyone who ever wished Christmas came with a bit more glitter, leather, and bad behavior. THE QUEER WITHOUT A SANTA CLAUS  plays The Laurie Beechman Theatre (inside the West Bank Cafe, 407 West 42nd Street on the corner of 9th Avenue) on Tuesdays and Fridays, December 2nd - 19th at 9:30 PM. The house opens at 9:00 PM for dinner and drinks, with the performance beginning at 9:30 PM. Tickets are $30 for Tuesday performances and $40 for Friday performances;  please note there is a $25 food/beverage minimum per guest. Tickets can be purchased at www.TheBeechman.com.

Remember the holidays when you were a kid... sipping hot cocoa and watching those classic stop-motion Christmas movies like Frosty or Rudolph?

This is kind of like that, but with a lot more tassels.

Join us for our first-ever Spankin'/Ass parody presentation of THE QUEER WITHOUT A SANTA CLAUS featuring an insane cast of dancers, drag queens, and divas telling dirty jokes and performing burlesque to all your favorite songs like "Blue Christmas", "Here Comes Santa Claus", and the infamous "Snow Miser / Heat Miser" numbers. In this spoof retelling, you'll follow Mrs. Claus, Vixen "the most innocent" reindeer, and the North Pole's bravest little elf boys as they try to find at least one person in New York City who still believes in Santa Claus, even if it requires things getting "hot" for Christmas.

With direction and choreography by "The Nymph of NYC" burlesque artist Sassie LeFay (Unmasked! A Comic Book Burlesque Parody), music-directed by Stephen Murphy (Golem Owned a Tropical Smoothie), THE QUEER WITHOUT A SANTA CLAUS is a spectacle that will have everything you want out of a grown-up holiday extravaganza: naughty puppets, raunchy comedy, and sexy striptease. What more could a kid ask Santa for?

ABOUT THE LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE
Tucked beneath the legendary West Bank Café since 1978, the Laurie Beechman Theatre has long been a launchpad for theatrical talent. Originally the “Downstairs Theatre Bar” with Lewis Black as Playwright-in-Residence, it produced over 1,500 one-acts, showcasing early work by Aaron Sorkin and breakout performances by Tony Shalhoub, Mary Testa, Nathan Lane, and more. It was the birthplace of Side Man and the place where Stephen Sondheim debuted “Finishing the Hat” during rehearsals for Sunday in the Park with George. Renamed for beloved Broadway star Laurie Beechman, the venue became a premier destination for cabaret, drag, comedy, and live performance, hosting legends from Joan Rivers (who performed 200+ sets there) to Jinkx Monsoon, André De Shields, and The Who. Now, under Broadway producers Tom and Michael D’Angora, the theatre has been reimagined with a bold all-blue disco-inspired design by Tony Award winner David Rockwell—blending late ’70s Times Square grit with uptown polish.

ABOUT BLACK WATCH THEATRE
Founded in 2022, Black Watch Theatre is a New York City creative producing team with the goal of funding and developing burgeoning new works on their path from living rooms to lauded commercial runs. The team made its off-Broadway debut producing The Trouble with Dead Boyfriends at the Player’s Theatre during the summer 2023. Black Watch Theatre is named after the Scottish regiment that famously struck fear in the hearts of their enemies during WWII. One of the co-founders’ grandfathers fought the Nazis with these ‘devils in skirts’, and the producers hope to support rising artists who continue the legacy of displaying courage, defeating fascism, and daring to wear kilts.
