Celebrating Kurt Weill’s 125th Birthday Year

Monday, September 22, 2025 at 7:30 PM

At The Theatre at St. Jean’s | The York Theatre, NYC

New York, NY (Embargoed) – The York Theatre (Joseph Hayward, Producing Artistic Director, Wendy Hall, General Manager), in association with producers Riki Kane Larimer, Maya Belubekian, and Levon Kazarian, proudly presents award-winning Chanteuse Internationale Adrienne Haan in a one-night-only special event, ADRIENNE HAAN SINGS KURT WEILL, on Monday, September 22, 2025 at 7:30 PM at The Theatre at St. Jean’s (150 East 76th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). $25 tickets (plus $4 convenience fee) are now on sale at https://ci.ovationtix.com/34375/production/1247388?performanceId=11676239.

This evocative soirée celebrates the life and work of the legendary composer Kurt Weill in honor of his 125th birthday year. Haan takes audiences on a musical journey through Berlin, Paris, and New York, tracing Weill’s career from the iconic songs of Berlin’s Golden 1920s, through his lesser-known but glorious exile-era works in France, to his celebrated Broadway compositions from the 1940s.

Directed by acclaimed New York theatre director Barry Kleinbort, this performance highlights Haan’s extraordinary vocal range, multilingual artistry, and theatrical flair. She is accompanied by her Novembergruppe trio, her long-time musical director Richard Danley on piano, Joe Graziosi on alto sax and clarinet, and Tal Ronen on bass.

The Huffington Post hails the show as “a remarkable one-woman show and the talk of the town,” while The New York Times declares, “Haan is an entertainer of the highest caliber.”

Adrienne Haan Sings Kurt Weill is more than a tribute—it’s a vibrant fusion of personal storytelling and cultural history, interweaving Haan’s own narrative with Weill’s timeless music, performed in their original languages and innovative arrangements.

TICKETS for Adrienne Haan Sings Kurt Weill are available now for $25 (plus $4 convenience fee) HERE.

The York Theatre, “Where Musicals Come to Life,” is the only theatre in New York City—and one of very few in the world—dedicated to developing and fully producing new musicals and preserving notable shows from the past. For over five decades, York’s intimate, imaginative style of producing both original and classic musicals has resulted in critical acclaim and recognition from artists and audiences alike. Since 1997, The York has focused on new musicals in its Mainstage Series—most of them world, American, or New York premieres—by some of the field’s most esteemed creators and has also helped launch the careers of many talented new writers. Over 45 cast recordings from York Theatre productions are now available, including its acclaimed revival of Closer Than Ever (2013 Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Revival). Commercial transfers of such York premieres as The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!), Souvenir (Tony Award Nomination for actress Judy Kaye), and Jolson & Company, and revivals of Pacific Overtures and Sweeney Todd (four Tony Nominations including Best Revival) have all showcased the importance of The York and its programs.

The York is the recipient of an Emmy Nomination, special Drama Desk Award for “Developing and Producing New Musicals,” a special Outer Critics Circle Award for “50 Years of Producing New and Classic Musicals.” The York is currently producing at The Theatre at St. Jean’s at 76th Street and Lexington Avenue.
